Sports Facilities

We are fortunate to have sports facilities and playing fields right on our doorsteps. These facilities are maintained and operated by the Parish Council and they provide an excellent venue for cricket, football, tennis, netball, tennis and other activities. As at 2014 we have 4 local Cricket Clubs and 1 Football Club who play some of their fixtures at the Park. Should you wish to find out more about these clubs please contact Mr M Woodhams, who is Sports Booking Clerk. His telephone number is 01727 822595, email,

In addition to the sports pitches and the multi-use games area, the Park has a modern sports pavilion which provides changing rooms, a function room with kitchen facilities and an outdoor paved patio area, with adjacent car parking.

When not in use for pre-booked sports activities the pavilion is available to hire for special events such as children's parties.

Napsbury Park Clubs

These clubs have been set up and are run by Napsbury Park residents.  If residents have a club they would like to form, please contact  and we will be happy to include details on this site.

Golf Society

The nearest golf Club to Napsbury Park is Verulam Golf Club (VGC) in London Road –www.verulamgolf.co.uk.

There is a small society based at this club (not part of VGC) called St Albans Golf Society (STAGS) which golfing enthusiasts might like to consider joining. There is no joining fee, and no commitment to play a certain number of games, but you need to be booked in a week in advance for catering purposes. The club visits about 8 different courses during the year.

Download the St Albans Golf Society Fixture List for 2015 here.

Book Club

This club has been set up by ladies in Napsbury Park. The club meets about once a month and book choices are varied with some being more challenging than others! Each member has the opportunity of choosing a book for all to read and review (over a glass of wine) at the next meeting. The club currently has 14 members and is at full capacity. Their closed Facebook group is here

There has been enough interest in the Park to set up a second Book Club. If you are interested, please contact other residents directly or via our NPRA Facebook group

Ladies Running and Walking Group

The Napsbury Park Ladies Running and Walking Group was formed for women in Napsbury so that they could meet up with like-minded neighbours to increase their athletic motivation! It also meant that those who prefer to maintain their safety by exercising with others can do so, especially on those dark winter days and evenings!

For more information please join the running group's own Facebook group

Cycling Club

A few residents cycle upto 20 miles each Saturday morning from around 9am. They meet in the square in Beningfield Drive. It's a nice, relaxed ride. They go easy, have banter and chat the whole way. Newcomers welcome!!

Baby and Toddler Group

The Napsbury Park Baby and Toddler Group is currently lying dormant. There are many young families within the Park so all it needs is a keen resident to breathe some life into it again. For more information please join the group's own Facebook group
